Though I came out ahead financially by waiting for GVJack, It'd have saved me a lot of heartache by not sticking with magicJack for this past year. I should have followed the path of others in this form long ago (I think was one of them) and purchased hardware to work directly with GV. It just feels good to be rid of so many problems/lies/shortcomings associated with MJ's service. Though it may sound like it, I am not a paid spokesman - just a simple user. If they so happen to use a previous credit card number I'll request a chargback quicker than you can say GVJack! heh I've cancelled my renewal subscription, and because I thought ahead and used a "disposable credit card number" to renew last year I shouldn't have to worry about a charge going through. I still have MJ service until April, but I see no reason I'll be using it. I can talk for more than 1.5 hours, and if I'm disconnected for whatever reason after placing a call *I* can call the other person back instead of having to wait for them to call me like with MJ. I can call Alaska, no problem, and my sister in a small city in ID. Connections seem more likely to happen, are quicker and I'm no longer blocked from calling my mother at work, a few small cities away. There are a few small qwerks left in the GUI, but pcphonesoft is on top of those and also has more improvements in the works.Ĭertainly, this is working better for me than MJ's own service. Service-wise GVJack has been working PERFECTLY for me since v1.003. I think its stable enough for most anyone to jump in at this point, especially if you consider the low price point. Still very happy with GVJack, and as always, PCPhonesoft is hammering out problems and issues discovered in release v1 very quickly. Also, afaik I am the only one who has had this issue thus far. PCPhonesoft and I haven't come to an agreement yet as to if this is due to a problem in their software or a problem with my setup. So far the biggest problem I'm having is that when I dial a phone number it doesn't always go through the first time, but ALWAYS goes through when I dial again directly afterwards.
Yeah, after over a year of a relationship with them I've finally joined their forums. That was quick! I initially assumed that working with MJ+ dongles wasn't going to be possible for some technical reason so I'm glad to see you've made it over that hurdle.įwiw, I'm trying to move all my "technical" related issues over to the pcphonesoft forums to make it easier for them to keep track of and diagnose problems.
